MERCURY PACKAGING WINS GOLDBest small business accolade for one of the UK’s leading flexible packaging manufacturers
Nottinghamshire-based Mercury entered an eye-catching mailing envelope designed and manufactured for tour operator Travel City Direct. Supplied through fulfilment company Mainstream Direct, the high strength polyethylene bag was five-colour printed with a bold design featuring stunning aquatic themed images promoting the ‘Worlds of Discovery’ Florida holiday brochure. The pack included a window for a personalised letter. Comedian and compere Tony Hawke and Peter Hargreaves of sponsor EskoArtwork presented the gold award to Adrian Cameron, Mercury’s Print Division Supervisor. Adrian commented: “ We are delighted to win this prestigious award. It follows significant investment in additional print technologies and equipment and is further recognition of Mercury’s ability to deliver high quality printed flexible packaging products. Using our eight-colour flexographic press, we are able to accurately reproduce even the most complex of designs for maximum brand impact.” Established in 1999 and currently celebrating its ten-year anniversary, Mercury employs over 50 people at its site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. With the recent acquisition of wicketted bag manufacturer Certiforms, it now boasts an annual turnover of approximately £6.2million. Adi Cameron receiving the award
